  1. ‚Ä¢ If this activity remains confined to a small area of
  2.   brain, the result is a focal seizure. During this type
  3.   of seizure, a patient remains conscious and may
  4.   experience a strange sensation, such as a smell or
  5.   taste, or have a brief episode of uncharacteristic
  6.   behavior. Another common type of focal seizure
  7.   includes the uncontrolled movement of an arm or
  8.   leg. These seizures usually last from seconds to
  9.   minutes and a complete recovery occurs within the
  10.   same time period.
  11. ‚Ä¢ A generalized seizure occurs when the electrical
  12.   activity spreads throughout the brain. When this
  13.   occurs, the patient loses consciousness, falls to the
  14.   ground and may have uncontrolled movements of
  15.   the body, arms and legs. Control over the bowel
  16.   and bladder may be lost. The seizure can go on for
  17.   several minutes, then it may take several hours for
  18.   the person to awaken.
